Gilberto Gandra was an early team member of a Canadian multi-national Pethealth Inc. (started in 1999, IPO in 2001, acquired 2014 for $100mm).  At Pethealth he launched and operated insurance brands in three countries: US, UK & Canada; helped redefine the biotech space of pet reunification (introducing a Universal Pet implantable RFID Technology) beating Big Pharma (twice); enabled hundreds of animal shelters to digitize their operations and save more pet lives with Enterprise SaaS.

After Pethealth Gilberto co-founded Adopets, an iPaaS platform that connects legacy animal shelter software to the mobile environment, making the pet adoption experience paperless and helping the world adopt more pets faster. The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated this business significantly.

Gilberto is an Alumni of two of the world’s best start-up ecosystem accelerators Techstars & MassChallenge. He is also an active community member of a number of other ecosystems including Hack.Diversity, Kinship, Startup Colorado.  Gilberto openly mentors early-stage founders on Team (hiring & dynamics), Terms (sourcing & raising) and Traction (growth, product & strategy).  He is a graduate of the University of Toronto (B.Sc.), undocumented data scientist, recovering telemarketer and Brazilian/Canadian Immigrant.
